My approach to this rural country home was grounded in honoring the elements of the surroundings while looking toward the tastes of the modern farmhouse style. Eager to keep the countryside feel intact while infusing a touch of California Coastal, we made sure the fireplace, large windows, and original brick details stay put, instead choosing to focus on newly defined moments with light oak floors, sleek finishes, and elevated stone countertops. The finished product is a space that is decidedly at home in the countryside: every room is filled with light and warm woods.
